Egg Freezing in Today’s Daily Mail
Today’s Daily Mail looks at the potential and limitations of egg freezing and, quite rightly, interviews Dr Gillian Lockwood, medical director of MFS – the clinic at which half of the UK’s frozen egg babies were conceived.
Disappointingly the article continues to represent elective egg freezers as high-flying career-obsessed alpha-females while the reality is frequently very different. However, it does reinforce the message ‘don’t leave it ’til your mid/late 30s to try for your first baby or to consider egg freezing’ – wise words for any woman!
And it also considers the value of egg freezing for young women diagnosed with cancer, for whom it offers at least a chance of future genetic motherhood.
