Receiving Donor Sperm
While donor sperm is an important part of fertility treatment, over the past few years it has become increasingly difficult to get supplies. However, MFS can source donor sperm from either regular altruistic donors or occasionally from other clinics in the UK or even from abroad. Unfortunately, due to the shortage of donor sperm from altruistic donors, the waiting list to receive treatment can be several months. Alternatively, a woman or couple may use a ‘known sperm donor’, ie a friend or relative, who agrees to provide sperm for use in their treatment only.
Donor sperm may be used in IUI, IVF or ICSI treatment.
