Treatment Assessment

To plan treatment effectively, MFS will need to perform ‘baseline tests’ on both partners who may undergo treatment.  This section outlines:

The treatment assessment will usually be scheduled within 14 days of the patient’s initial consultation, usually on day two to five of the woman’s cycle where day one is the first day of her period.  Both partners receiving treatment must attend the treatment assessment, even if the tests duplicate others they may have already had elsewhere, including:

Follow-up appointment

Usually about two weeks after the baseline tests/treatment assessment, the results will be available at a follow-up appointment, where the MFS nurse or doctor will be able to advise on the most appropriate treatment for each patient.  The options may be discussed in full, including any risks and also the success rates.  At this visit, treatment may be planned immediately or the clinical team may advise that counselling or further advanced tests or investigations are needed.  Patients may also wish to consider the results and recommendations of the follow-up appointment and choose contact MFS again if they would like to go ahead with treatment at another time.
