Fertility Update for Practice Nurses and Related Professionals

Practice nurses, midwives and health visitors are invited to a half-day fertility update course, an event accredited by the Royal College of Nursing Accreditation Unit. Completion of the course entitles delegates to 6 fully certified PREP/CPD study hours and the opportunity to provide written evaluation of the course.
The course will be presented by senior members of the MFS clinical team and will provide a basic introduction to causes of and treatments for infertility. It is aimed practice nurses and related professionals who want to improve their knowledge of general aspects of fertility and will cover:
- anatomy and physiology
- causes and diagnosis of infertility
- lifestyle factors affecting fertility
- psychological and counselling issues
- treatment options
- the option to discuss these issues with personnel working in the field
- tour of the unit (optional)
At the end of the course the delegates will have knowledge of all of the above and an understanding of basic care at a primary level. They will be able to use this to direct patients to the most appropriate care pathway.
The cost of the course, including a buffet lunch, is £25 per delegate - but will be free on bookings made before Monday 10 October 2011.
